The Cherry Red Records Stadium, located on Plough Lane in London, represents a significant milestone in the history of AFC Wimbledon. Following the controversial relocation of the original Wimbledon FC to Milton Keynes in the early 2000s, supporters formed AFC Wimbledon to preserve their club's identity and eventually return to their spiritual home in the borough of Merton. Construction of the new facility began in 2018 on the site of the former Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium, marking a major architectural transformation of the land. The stadium officially opened in November 2020, with the inaugural match against Doncaster Rovers taking place behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
