Stade du Ray

Stade Municipal du Ray was a football stadium in Nice, France, and the home of OGC Nice from its opening on 30 January 1927 until 2013. The stadium was built in 1897 and underwent renovations in 1948, 1979, 1992, and 1997. With a capacity of 17,415, the red and black coloured stadium was conveniently located in the centre of the city but suffered from its old structure and small capacity. A new stadium was planned to be built in the Lingostiere side of Nice, but the project was cancelled in 2006. The stadium was replaced by the Allianz Riviera in September 2013, bringing an end to 86 years of football at the venue. The stadium was demolished in 2017.
