Yankee Stadium (Original)

Opened on April 18, 1923, Yankee Stadium was the first three-tiered sports venue in the United States. It underwent major renovations in the mid-1970s, reopening in 1976. The Yankees played their final game there on September 21, 2008, before moving to the new Yankee Stadium across the street. The original structure was demolished between 2009 and 2010.

Babe Ruth hit the first home run at Yankee Stadium on its opening day. The stadium's Monument Park featured plaques and retired numbers of Yankee legends. The famous 'short porch' in right field was just 296 feet from home plate.
