**PSV has unveiled plans for a major redevelopment of Philips Stadion that could transform it into the largest football venue in the Netherlands. The project, described as the most significant in the club’s history, aims to expand capacity well beyond the current 35,000.**

The club is targeting between 52,000 and 58,500 seats, with the potential to approach 60,000 depending on final design decisions such as roof structure and seating configuration. A permit has been requested to allow for a substantial increase in capacity.

Design proposals include building a new outer shell around the stadium, featuring a colonnade and added greenery, along with a third tier on all four sides. This approach is intended to create a more unified look while limiting noise impact and improving the overall atmosphere.

PSV says the expansion reflects growing demand, highlighted by a season ticket waiting list of around 22,000, and is key to maintaining competitiveness in European football. The redevelopment also aims to better connect the stadium with its surroundings, positioned between Eindhoven’s city centre and the Strijp-S district.

The project is expected to cost between €350m and €450m, with construction targeted to begin in 2027 and completion planned for 2030. The team will continue playing at the stadium during the works, with the most intensive phases scheduled for the off-season.

PSV believes the upgraded stadium will serve as a long-term home for decades to come, with the expansion designed as a final, future-proofed version of the venue.
